The rearing horse “Style” is of an edition of 25. #1 is owned by the King of Saudi Arabia. As you know, the Arabian horse is from that country, and this sculpture is of an Arabian…note the beautiful head, the long arched neck, the long hip, and the high tail carriage. The name came after seeing the completed sculpture, for the horse is extremely stylish.
All of my bronzes are lost-wax bronzes, entailing a considerable amount of hand labor from other artists at the foundry.
I intend that my sculptures will stir memories, emotions and imagination in the viewer so that we can share the reality of life through the horse, or bull, or whatever. John Ruskin is supposed to have replied to someone, who remarked that they had never seen a sunset of the hue of one that was in a particular painting, “But don’t you wish you had?” ~ Connie Foss
